Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the main difference between Essential and Select?

Both provide comprehensive coverage. Essential targets a 3-business-day depot repair from service center receipt. Select adds advance replacement with same-day shipment of a “like new” device and includes 24/7 phone support.

Does LifeGuard require a OneCare plan?

LifeGuard security updates are included with every OneCare plan (TSS, SV, Essential, Select, and On-Site). The length of support and OS versions covered depend on the specific Zebra device and software lifecycle.

Which devices qualify for the SV (Special Value) plan?

SV is designed for value-tier mobile computers such as the TC2X family and select mobile printers. It includes 5-business-day depot repair, wear/tear coverage, optional accidental damage, LifeGuard updates, and 8×5 phone support.

How is the repair turnaround time measured?

Turnaround is measured from the time the depot receives your device at the Zebra Service Center. Transit time to the depot is not included unless enhanced logistics are part of your agreement.

Is 24/7 phone support included in all plans?

No. 24/7 phone support is included with OneCare Select. Other plans include phone support during local business hours (Mon–Fri, 8–5).

How does On-Site Support work?

For critical or hard-to-ship devices, a Zebra-trained technician can be dispatched to your location. Response options typically range from 1–2 business days and availability depends on region and device type.
